Indexing of Written Parliamentary Questions (WPQs)

Clear backlog of approximately 25,000 WPQS for loading on to the new Parliamentary Information Service (PIMS)

Client: House of Commons

Project:

Indexing of Written Parliamentary Questions (WPQs)

Purpose:

Clear backlog of approximately 25,000 WPQS for loading on to the new Parliamentary Information Service (PIMS)

Details:

Information Matters™ have completed 5 indexing, cataloguing and consulting projects for the House of Commons Libraries. The most recent of these was a consulting report on the effectiveness of the cataloguing and indexing of the PIMS product. Research for that piece of work revealed a gap of several months between WPQs being submitted and being indexed.

Information Matters™ won the mandate to index 26,000 questions based on our ability to form a team of indexers who were eligible for security clearance and able to commence work within days of the contract being awarded.

Following a brief training period the Information Matters™ team of four were able to index 3,000 questions per week, more than the Commons Indexers working on similar material

Information Matters™ success was attributed to our existing relationship and reputation for delivering quality information management services to the House Libraries, our flexibility in pricing and our ability to deliver a team of experienced individuals ready to begin work at short notice.
